The next Scottish Parliamentary Election is scheduled for Thursday 7th May 2026.
Key dates are
Last to to be registered in time - midnight on Monday 20th April 2026
Last day to apply for a postal vote in time - 5pm on Tuesday 21st April 2026
Last day to apply for a proxy vote in time - 5pm on Tuesday 28th April 2026
Received a communication from us about your Postal Vote?
If you are a UK Postal Voter you will have to renew your application every three years now and for many this was due on the 31st January 2026. However if you haven't renewed and got a cancellation communication from us you can still go online and reapply at anytime. Please note this doesn't impact if you have a postal vote setup for Scottish Parliamentary Elections. More details are on our Postal Vote Renewals Page.
