Register of Electors
The Electoral Registration Officer keeps an electoral register and an open register (or the edited register) using information provided by the public when they register to vote. You must be on the register of electors to vote in UK elections and referendums.
What is the electoral register
The electoral register lists the names and addresses of everyone who is registered to vote in public elections. The register is used for electoral purposes, such as making sure only eligible people can vote. It is also used for other limited purposes specified in law, such as detecting crime (e.g. fraud), calling people for jury service and checking credit applications.

Can I remove my details from the open register?
Your name and address will be included in the open register unless you ask for them to be removed. Removing your details from the open register does not affect your right to vote. If you want to opt out of the open register please email [email protected], please provide your full name and address. If you are already registered to vote, your existing choice about whether or not to be on the open register will continue until you tell us that you wish to change your choice, or you change address.

The electoral register can be viewed by appointment only, and under supervision at:
