Elections in 2026

There will be a local government by-election in Ward 4 (East Sutherland and Edderton) on Thursday 25 June 2026.

You must be 16 or over by 25 June 2026 and registered to vote, to be able to vote in this election. You can find further information on how to register to vote here.

How to return your application form to us

You can return completed application forms to any of our offices by post or by email to [email protected] – we can only accept black & white clear scanned images under 50MB (51200kB).  We cannot accept photographs of application forms. Address details for our offices can be found here

Electoral Registration Officer deadline dates are noted below.

Registration deadline	Midnight, Monday 08 June 2026
Deadline for new postal vote and postal proxy applications and for changes to existing postal or proxy votes	5pm, Tuesday 09 June 2026
Deadline for new applications to vote by proxy (not postal proxy)	5pm, Tuesday 17 June 2026
