The Ethical Standards in Public Life etc (Scotland) Act 2002

In terms of this legislation the Grampian Valuation Joint Board is neither a Council nor a devolved public body and is therefore not under a duty to keep a Register of Members’ Interests. The registers of the interests of individual members are however maintained by their constituent councils.

The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

This legislation is intended to create more open and accountable public authorities by providing greater rights of access to information. The Act places a duty on both the Board and Assessor (who are defined as separate public authorities) to produce Publication Schemes dealing with the availability of information in their possession. The Board and Assessor schemes are available on the Grampian Valuation Joint Board website which you can access by clicking on the link in the Menu opposite.

Since 1 January 2005 it has been possible to request other information (subject to certain exclusions) not dealt with in the Publication Schemes.
