UK Parliament Postal Vote Cancellations

2nd February 2026

The ERO wrote to around 40,000 electors during 2025 where their UK Postal Voting arrangement was due to expire. Those who wished to retain their Postal Vote were invited to reapply. Around 16,000 voters have not reapplied, and their Postal Vote arrangement for UK Parliamentary Elections have now been cancelled. Emails were sent on 2 February 2026 to those affected, and where no email address is held, a letter will be sent week commencing 9 February 2026.

An application for a Postal Vote can be made online here. Note, that if you are replacing this arrangement, select UK Parliament Elections only.

2024/25 Self Catering Evidence Checks

2nd February 2026

The 2024/25 Audit of Self-Catering properties on the Valuation Roll has now begun. Requests for evidence will be sent out on 3 February 2026, with responses required by 31 March 2026.

Self Catering Accommodation – 2023/24

The Scottish Government have opened a new window for the provision of evidence in relation to the financial year 2023/24. This window, by law, will close for the final time on 6 December 2025.
The window allows for new evidence to be submitted, or for a request to be made for existing evidence to be reconsidered.

DABVJB Accounts 2024/25 – Pre-Audit Inspection

Notice is hereby given, under section 195 (public notices) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 Regulation 9, that copies of the unaudited accounts of DUNBARTONSHIRE AND ARGYLL & BUTE VALUATION JOINT BOARD for the period from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025, will be available for public inspection on the VJBs website from 28/06/2025.

Annual Electoral Canvass 2025

26th June 2025

Every year we conduct an annual canvass of all properties with Argyll & Bute, East Dunbartonshire and West Dunbartonshire Council areas. We will contact you, and depending on your particular circumstances, you may require to respond and update your registration status. This will take place during the period from 14 July to 30 November 2025.
